Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the Chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into strips and soak them in buttermilk for at least 1 hour (or overnight) in the refrigerator.
  • Prepare the Breading Station: In one bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  • Bread the Chicken: Remove chicken strips from buttermilk, letting excess drip off. Dip each strip into the flour mixture, then into the beaten eggs, and back into the flour mixture for a double coating.
  • Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F/175°C).
  • Fry the Chicken: Carefully add chicken strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Drain and Serve: Remove chicken strips from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For a healthier version, try baking or air-frying the chicken strips instead of frying them in oil. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
